Windows Server 2008 SP2 (Standard)
Dell Power Edge 1800
Intel Xeon 3.60 GHZ
Memory: 3GB
System Type: 64- Bit
The problem is every time I try to reboot the Server it takes a long time at least 45 minutes to 1 hour to REBOOT. I went to the msconfig (System Configuration) and try Diagnostic startup by loading basic devices and services only. It did the same thing (long time). I went back again try selective startup. I only loaded system services. It did the same thing again. I ran out of ideas. And just a reminder this is a new OS install my supervisor did for me before I got it. There are hardly any applications install on the server. The only major one is Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.
Do I need more memory or edit the registry? I am lost right now this a pain in the Butt. I think now I will scan it to find out if there is virus, botnet or something on the server.
